Ek tha Tiger banned: Salman to visit Pakistan to clear misconception
After PEMRA’s ban over the release and promotion of Salman Khan’s upcoming movie “Ek tha Tiger” in Pakistan earlier this month. Salman Khan has announced to visit Pakistan accompanied the director of his movie Kabir Khan.
Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) advised the channels and cable networks to “refrain from airing promos/reviews” of the movie till it is issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) by the Central Board of Film Censors.
Kabir khan when asked, told, “It’s disturbing for Ek Tha Tiger to be perceived as an anti-Pakistan film. But it isn’t surprising. Look at the cheap jingoistic anti-Pakistan films that have released over the years. We can’t really blame them if they perceive Ek Tha Tiger as one such film.”
Kabir blamed previous Indian movies responsible to project negative impact on the Pakistan Censor Board and consider this visit to Pakistan as a gesture to clear misconception.
“Neither Salman nor I have ever visited Pakistan. So why not? We are willing to do anything that’s required to make Pakistanis believe that our project is not against them. I don’t think the trailer being banned is a big deal. Once the film releases, the truth will be out.” Kabir added, About Salman and his trip to Pakistan.
Earlier Kabir Khan had also tweeted. ”I will say it once more… Ek Tha Tiger is NOT anti Pakistan….In this day and age, it’s stupid to make films that are insensitive or derogatory to any country or community.”
